Sizing Insect Exclusion Screens For
  Greenhouses
      Shearin
and Baker developed the following computer program* for sizing insect exclusion
screens for greenhouses. This is a DOS-based program and is compatible with
machines running Windows 95/98/2000/XP. For more information about retrofitting
  a greenhouse, see Information
  Note #104.

Before you begin, you will need to know...
  - the greenhouse static pressure drop you measured
with your manometer with all doors closed and fans running (see Note
    #104 if necessary)
- the airflow CFM for your fans (If you wish
to see the list of airflow (CFM) data for most commercially available greenhouse
    fans, click here.)
- the size of the ventilation window or evaporative
    cooling pads
- the square foot area of the greenhouse
Directions:
  - Download the Screening
Program by clicking here. DOWNLOAD (40K)
- Enter the static pressure drop of the greenhouse
that you measured with your manometer.
- Enter total CFM for all fans in the greenhouse.

- Next, enter the size of the ventilation window
    or evaporative cooling pads.
- Last, enter the area of the greenhouse floor.

Finally, the program presents a list of 29 screening
fabrics and the size of the screen that will provide adequate ventilation for
  each material.
